Cation-induced molecular orbital modulations and supramolecular formation of a 15-crown-5-substituted tribenzotetraazachlorin-C60 conjugate

A tribenzotetraazachlorin (TBTAC)-C60 conjugate having three 15-crown-5 units as substituents, 1, has been synthesized, and the electronic and supramolecular structure modulations in the presence of Na+ or K+ have been elucidated by means of massmetric and spectroscopic techniques.
